Birmingham Memorial Trees

Hallett were honoured to be asked to transport and Hiab into position the Beautiful Three Memorial Trees to the victims of the 1974 Birmingham Bombings, where 21 people lost their lives and more than 200 people injured. The Memorial sits just outside of the new Grand Central Station. The Trees have 21 Leaves engraved with the names of the 21 victims, to be an everlasting memory and testament of their bravery.
The Plaque reads:

“Were it not for the bravery of the members of the emergency services on that night, and of local taxi drivers ferrying the injured to hospital, the death toll would have been even higher.

“For the families and friends of the victims, the injured and the traumatised, the pain and loss of that tragic night remains in our hearts.

“This memorial stands as a testament to our grief, in the hope that the 21 will be ever rooted in this place; and as a symbol of peace and unity at the gateway of our city.”
